Yvonne Creations Petit Pierrot Cards

Petit Pierrot

This has become one of my favorite collections.  It is from Yvonne Creations, a division of Find it Trading.  Imported from Holland.  I made this as a set of baby cards, but you could certainly use the paper and punch out elements for any age group.  Anyone with a passion for theatre or music would love it.

Here is the breakdown of my creations:

These little clowns are boys or girls and it is really hard to tell the difference.  This is the boy.  I used the fabulous spiral paper from the 6x6 inch paper pad, and the boy, which comes on a punch out sheet.

Used a leaf die from Elizabeth Crafts, sign posts from Spellbinders were used as the gate posts, and a stamp from Jillibean Soup.  Placed everything on some fabulous bling cardstock from Bazzill Basics, and then covered the card base, made from Card Shoppe Cardstock, also from Bazzill Basics.

This is a great little birthday card.  I cut out a number of various sized circles and frames, using Bazzill Basics cardstock and metallic cardstock for the center.  Flowers are from an Elizabeth Craft die. I used white twine from American Crafts and a stamped sentiment from Lily Bee Design.   Again this is the boy; you can tell because he is wearing pants, but again it doesn't really matter, especially in this day and age!

Finally, a girl.  She is wearing a skirt.   Isn't she the cutest!  For this card I layered some colors behind the element punch out, cut and layered some flowers (these from Spellbinders) and attached them with brads.  The jewel borders are from Elizabeth Craft and I added a layered sentiment which was handprinted and embossed.
Layered elements and card base are cut from Bazzill Basics cardstock.

I think I will be using this collection a lot.  The punch out sheets can also be used for decoupage projects.  Each sheet comes with numbered elements. Lots of fun options for these.

We have all your favorite scrapbook and cardmaking supplies.
They are here, in stock and ready to ship.  Canada Post is shipping on schedule
at this point.  I will let you know if there are any changes.

Hello Baby Girl Cards

Hello Baby Girl Cards with Echo Park Paper
Here are a couple of cards made with Hello Baby Girl, a fabulous little woodland collection by Echo Park Paper Co.  I used the 3x4 journaling card paper.  There are some very cute graphics and sentiments on this sheet.  These may look simple, but it was a Sunday afternoon project!

For the teal card, I inlayed the journal tag and added a frame cut from a Marianne Design die set.  The little diaper pin is a brad from Eyelet Outlet.  Ribbon has been in my stash for ages.  I was going to add a bow.  I might still do that...  The teal is Bazzill Basics textured cardstock

For the pink card I cut the journal card with nesting rectangle dies (Spellbinders),  then added some Prima flowers and a handmade felt diaper. The beautiful pink watercolour paper is from Alexandra Renke.

If you have baby cards to make, the Hello Baby Girl collection might be just what you need.

Christmas Card Blitz

Creating a lot of individual cards can be a challenge, but you can make it easier by sticking to one collection of papers and journal tags and add some special touches with stamps and dies.

Here are 10 cards, made from the Simple Stories Merry & Bright collection.

I have to admit that some of these were designed for a Christmas Card Blitz we offered at the Invermere Public Library.  The ladies ran with the idea and created lots of different cards.  Their creativity beats mine, hands down.   I must try to get photos next year.  They certainly are a talented bunch.

Once that workshop was finished, I continued to make cards and found it hard to stop.  This collection had me hooked!

Here is a breakdown and a closer look at the cards:

From sweaters to sentiments, Simple Stories had me covered with their journal cut out tag papers.  I cut some of them into shapes and left some as they were, and added Christmas coloured backgrounds, some die cut everygreen branches or poinsettias to create these fun cards.

I used a cute Santa stamp from Magnolia Ink to add a little fun!

Some ribbon and twine, black glitter pen and stars dress up the tree card, while evergreen branches and a big snowflake add dimension to the truck card!

I added Glossy Accents to the Christmas lights on the reindeer, some red glitter a red snowflake border to the hot cocoa card

And you can't go wrong with penguins.  The penguin (I think it is actually a puffin...) is from a Penny Black stamp set.  I added an envelope to this card - perfect for gift cards or messages.

Those are my cards for today.  Hopefully they will give you some ideas

Girl with Butterflies in Autumn

Isn't she lovely!

We are fortunate to be able to carry such a large variety of designer stamps.  This one from Carabelle Studios is one of my favorites.  The Girl with Butterflies tells her own story and she can be used on so many cards for so many precious occasions.  Here are 3 different versions.

I used distress markers to colour the girls and butterflies.

What else:
For plaid background card:  Paper is from Simple Stories Simple Vintage Halloween collection
Sunflower created from Spellbinders and Sissix dies
                                             Stamp sentiment is Technique Tuesday
Shapes are cut from Lifestyle Crafts layering dies
Distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink

White background card:   Paper is 49 and Market Sun and Sea collection
                                          Stamp sentiment is Jillibean Soup
Dots made with Viva Decor pearl pen

Set your own Path card:   Paper is Basic Grey
Shapes are cut from Lifestyle Crafts layering dies
                                         Stamp sentiment is Hero Arts
Distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink
                                         Added a handmade bow

For all my cards I use Bazzill Basics Card Shoppe cardstock as a base.  This is thick and always stands up to layering and all the other things I want to do with my card.  For glue I use my favorite Art Glitter glue.

Hope you have a beautiful day.

Elegant Fashionista Birthday Card

This card was made with journal tags from Echo Park's Fashionista paper and a large butterfly cut from Kaisercraft's Fairy Garden paper.  I used an oval nesting die to outline the manikin and frame and trimmed down the sentiment to arrange on an A2 card base.  I love the combination of black, white with a touch of pink, and I can think of a few fashionista friends who will enjoy receiving this card.  Because it has a vintage look to it, I think it would be a great card for the car enthusiast; we have many visiting the Show and Shine here this weekend.  Hope you like it, too!

Products used in this card
Echo Park and Kaisercraft papers
Bazzill Basics Marshmallow Card Shoppe Cardstock, Raven Cardstock and Metallic Cardstock in Onyx
Tim Holtz/Ranger Black Diamond Stickles and Memento Tuxedo Black Inkpad

Hope you are enjoying this last official weekend of summer.  Hope to see you back here soon.

Another Gnome Card

I have become addicted to gnomes.  This is from a stamp set and die set by Stampendous, which I previously used in the journal page posted a month or so ago.  Now, these sweet gnomes will wish someone a happy birthday (which is what I stamped inside the card).  For this card, I colored the gnomes, heart, grass and stones with Letraset ProMarkers.  The swing is "held up" with wire flower stems. Too cute!

Supplies used:
Cardstock from Bazzill Basics and 49 and Market
Inks are Letraset alcohol ProMarkers, Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Colorbox Petal Point Archival Ink
Stamps are Stampendous clear stamps with sentiment stamp from Technique Tuesday
Ivy die is Cottage Cutz
Watering Can element is Carta Bella

Sorry to say, I do not have this stamp set available anymore, but we have lots of great stamps.  You will surely find a set you like! Take a look at the webstore  www.scrapperscoveinvermere.net

Fun garden journal with BoBunny and Stampendous

Sharing a whimsical garden journal I made a few weeks ago

This is a melding of beautiful and classy garden paper from BoBunny and some sweet gnomes from Stampendous (and some stamps from others, as well).  The effect is pretty sweet.

This is an accordian fold journal that I put together with one sheet of 12x12 inch cardstock from Bazzill Basics.  The journal measures 6x6 inches, so I was able to cut the front and back panels, plus the accordian fold binding from a single piece.

The patterned paper is from the Aryia's Garden collection from BoBunny.  Filled with roses, garden gates and some rustic elements as well, this paper is great for garden themed projects, and worked perfectly here in this little journal.  I needed 14 pieces to complete both sides of  the 5 inner pages plus the front and back covers.  So, four papers, each cut into 6x6 inch squares...and I have a couple of pieces left over.

The stamp set is Whisper Friends clear stamp set from Stampendous.  I couldn't resist it!

I used a layered rose die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs as well, to add some leaves and roses throughout the pages.  The brick wall stencil is from My Favorite Things.

Here are the other pages:
I applied white gesso over the stencil to create just a wee bit of dimension to these pages and then inked with distress ink (ground espresso and lucky clover are the colors I chose).  The journal tag is part of the Aryia's Garden paper collection.  I used a number of them throughout the journal.

Here is another gnome, and I used a stamp from Scrapbook Customs (yes, they have some stamps now, and some very cute ones!)  I colored all the gnomes and some of the other elements from this stamp set with water color pencils. Very simple to do, and they came out perfect!

Here I used two  4x6 inch journal tags from Aryia's Garden as one of the back to back pages.

There is the gnome again.  She just pops up where ever she feels like it!

I love how this little gnome sits amidst the gorgeous roses!  The stamp on the inside back cover is from Hero Arts (Dare to Dream clear stamp set).

I used 1/4 inch double sided power tape from Scrapbook Adhesives to put all the pages together. The accordian style binding allows the pages to open flat.  Love this little album.  Once it is filled with journaling and photos, it will look great on somebody's coffee table or in the garden shed.

List of all products:
Cardstock:  BoBunny and Bazzill Basics
Stamps:  Stampendous, Kaisercraft, Hero Arts, Scrapbook Customs Inc.
Stencil:  My Favorite Things
Dies:  Elizabeth Craft Designs
Ink:  Tim Holtz, Ranger; Distress Resist Spray also used
Adhesive:  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Sticky Thumb liquid glue

Making cards and thinking outside the stamp

Anyone who knows me also knows that I always look at a stamp and consider the versatility before it becomes part of my stash.  I hope these sweet cards help you think outside the box with your stamps, because cardmaking isn't about making the "perfect" card.  It is about having fun and creating something that feels good.

This first card is made with a cute stamp from a Crafter's Companion stamp set: "The tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck" by Beatrix Potter.  I stamped and coloured Jemima with Letraset Promarkers.  Then created a fun background with ripped paper (this is Maggie Holmes Hawthorne paper on the top and Scrapbook Customs Sand paper on the bottom).  The sentiment is from Fiskars birthday stamp collection and a few little gems were added for sparkle.

This owl stamp is one of my favorites.  I have used him for many a graduation card - this time he will send a birthday message.
I stamped and coloured the owl on white cardstock, then tucked a die cut branch under his claws (cut around the feet with a craft knife).  I did not have a stamp for "another year" so I had to print from my computer - if you have nice printing you could go without the computer.  "Wiser" I took from a Basic Grey alpha sticker set.  Hard to see, but I popped his eyes out with Glossy Accents and left everything else simple and clean.
Supplies used for this card:
Heritage makers stamp set
Lifestyle Crafts and Elizabeth Crafts dies
Bazzill Basics cardstock
Letraset Promarkers
Basic Grey stickers
Ranger's Glossy Accents

Hope you are having a super May long weekend.

Panda Party cards with Photo Play

 Make cards with journal tags!

Photo Play has a fabulous selection of papers and embellishments.  I cannot resist this cute collection called Cake Panda Party with cute panda images, black and white patterns with a hint of color.  I chose to work with a journal cutout page and quad patterned page.  What do you think?  These cards are perfect for kids or adults.

Here's some close ups:
1.
For this card I cut out the bear from one journal tag and trimmed down a second journal tag for the sentiment.  Cut some leaves and stems in various colours of green and added stickles to the eyes and pom pom on the hat.  The design was backed with blue cardstock and mounted on beige base.
(dies from Cottage Cutz and Elizabeth Craft Designs, cardstock from Bazzill Basics)

2.
With this card, I also cut the cute bear face and sentiment from the journal tags, backed onto paper trimmed from the quad designs.  I then added die cut balloons, some twine and a leaf.  I used a bit of distress ink to pop out the bear.  Stickles used again for the eyes and pom pom.  I backed everything onto a lime green patterned paper and then onto Spring Green Cardshoppe cardstock.
(dies from Elizabeth Crafts and Tim Holtz, paper from Crate Paper, cardstock from Bazzill Basics)

3.
Backed on black cardstock and mounted on rose coloured Cardshoppe cardstock, this is a simple and elegant card from the same Cake Panda Party collection.  The Happy Birthday tags were cut and trimmed.  I simply added die cut leaves, paper flowers and bling.
(die from Elizabeth Crafts, flowers from Prima Marketing, bling from Queen & Co, cardstock from Bazzill Basics)

4.
Last, but not least.  This is a fun card with a bit of pop.  I cut a circle in the background and inserted sentiment from one of the journal tags.  The candle also comes from a journal tag; I adhered the candle with pop dots.  I cut two balloons from left over patterned paper and glued them over existing balloons.  Then I used glossy accents on the attached balloons and candle flame  to give some shine and texture.  A little gold glitter went onto the candle flame as well.  Fun and more fun.  I used some pink striped paper as a backing and all went onto a white card base.
(pink striped paper is, I think, from My Mind's Eye, and cardstock is from Bazzill Basics)

Here are the two sheets of 12x12 inch papers I started with.  I can still make a few cards from what remains!

Stitch Happy Valentine Pouches

Trying out the new Stitch Happy craft sewing machine from WeR Memory Keepers.  I decided to give it a go, and designed some cute valentine pouches.  These are going to hold scratch and win tickets - someone has to win!  You might want to use them to hold theater tickets, gift cards or even a thin sleeve of cinnamon hearts.

These are all made to measure 2.5x5 inches.  I cut the base at 6x5 inches, scored to 2.5 and 5 inches so I had a 1 inch flap to glue the spiral together.  I did put a strip on the bottom as well to hold the contents.  I decorated only the fronts, using cardstock and patterned paper.  (These could, of course, be single layered.) The hearts and snowflake border were die cut and I used fabulous Wilted Violet distress ink to edge the hearts and paper.  The stitching is very simple, but definitely adds interest and a bit of dimension.

I used white floss for the stitching.  I chose the straight stitch with a multi-media needle and tension of 3, so you know.  Because the floss separates easily, I dabbed the end with a glue pen before inserting in the needle.  If you have this machine, I recommend you read the entire instruction manual and search out some of the videos on youtube.  There are a few little things that may cause frustration in the beginning, but once you get everything sorted out, you will love the machine.  It is small, light and fun to use.

Here's a close up of the stitching:

Supplies used:
Bazzill Basics cardstock
patterned paper from Basic Grey and Alexandra Renke
dies from Joy Crafts, Lifestyle Crafts and Marianne Designs
stamps from Inky Antics
ink - distress ink and versamark with white embossing powder
floss, thread and machine from We R Memory Keepers

Halloween Night Scrapbook Page

Thought I would share a page that was started a year ago, but I somehow misplaced the photos!  This was a page challenge from October 2016, finally done....

The page started with Halloween themed products from the Boos & Brews collection by Doodlebug.  Bright and colourful, the collection included double sided papers, cutout journal cards, borders and stickers which are oh, so cute.  Also included in the kit was a 12x12 inch sheet of Bazzill Basics cardstock, on rhinestone star from Kaisercraft and some purple fabric ribbon.

I used a QuicKutz die to cut the bat shapes, and good old fashioned scissors to cut the other shapes.

Poinsettia Cards

Here are some traditional Christmas cards with a bit of a twist.  I love the Poinsettia die set from Spellbinders and use mine a lot (and I mean a lot!)  For these cards I cut the poinsettias in green, and I cut some in foiled vellum as well which add a really different look once layered.
I used a pale yellow (Chiffon) cardstock for the background and cut a window and frame from Spellbinders Locking Loops die set and backed the flower with shapes cut from the Spruce Stems die from Cottage Cuts.  The sentiment is from a stamp set from Impression Obsession

Here is another one that was cut exactly the same, but instead of the spruce I used a flourish die from Die-Namics to back the flower.

The cardstock used in both of these cards is from Bazzill Basics, and the foiled vellum is from Crate Paper.

Christmas Penguin Shaker Card

You have to love shaker cards.  They are all the rage right now.  Here's mine:

I don't think there is anything easy about shaker cards.  I ended up using a simple image stamp for the inside of the shaker. But making sure the sequins shake is a different story.  You really need to let them sit before you shake, shake, shake.

I used glossy accents to adhere the clear acrylic sheet.  Make sure you lay your card flat and let it dry completely after you put everything together!

Yes, the sequins do shake, and I think this is a very cute card.

I used the Let's Chill rubber stamp set from Penny Black, Patterned cardstock from BoBunny, Cardshoppe cardstock from Bazzill Basics, satin ribbon and sequins. Foam adhesive strips used to put the shaker and card together are from Scrapbook Adhesives.

Happy Christmas crafting!

Celebrating Canada 150

Two cute layouts for you today.  We shared a fabulous Canada Day with our family.  The highlight, of course, is being able to spend time with our grandsons!  Marshall celebrated his first Canada Day at the age of 6 months and in true Canadian style, complete with maple leaf tattoos, sunhat and t-shirt.

I like to put lots of photos on each page and sometimes it's a bit challenging to fit them in and add embellishments too!  This was not my original thought, but once I started moving the photos around I was able to make it work.  Three of the photos are printed in a 3x4" size, thanks to my handy Epson photo printer.  I would recommend one to any scrapbooker, for sure!

Products used:  Paper from Bazzill Basics, Scrapbook Customs, Echo Park and BoBunny, the cute number stickers are from Bella Blvd, and the maple leaves cut from Sizzix dies.

******
Here's the page I did for my older grandson who played in his Grandpa's band as part of the Canada Day celebration.  Hard to see him in the photo, but he's there.  Also sporting red and white and tattoos everywhere!

Sometimes all you need is the right paper.  This paper is from Scrapbook Customs.  All I did was add some letters (these are Basic Grey alpha stickers), and my photos... There was nothing else I wanted to add.  I used a craft knife to cut around part of the maple leaf so that I can tuck the photo behind it.

Hope you have had a chance to scrapbook your Canada Day.  If not we have lots of Canada papers, embellishments, stickers, even maple leaf brads...

Stamping with Stamping Bella

Cute cards for the wine lover:

I used fabulous rubber stamps from Stamping Bella, specially designed for the "Sistahood" collection.

For this series of cards I used stamps from Uptown Girl Opal, The Optimist.  I colored each stamped image using a combination of Letraset Pro markers and Chameleon Markers, then fussy cut each of the girls. There are dies available for these stamps, but I like to fussy cut, and I've heard it said that fussy cutting is good therapy (not sure where I heard that one...)

"May your glass always be half full" is the stamp sentiment that comes in the Optimist set.  The stamp "Hope your birthday is good to the last drop" is one from Whipper Snapper Designs, and one that I seem to use on a lot of my cards!

Patterned papers used for these cards are from Fabscraps, Cosmo Cricket, BoBunny
and Alexandra Renke; cardstock from Bazzill Basics; distress ink from Tim Holtz and Memento ink from Tsukineko, plus nesting dies from Lifestyle Crafts and Spellbinders.  Oh, and the little metallic accents are Glam Rocks from Imaginisce.  I don't use them too often anymore, but really love the effect.

Make sure to visit the webstore.  We have lots and lots of stamps, and everything you need to create your own unique cards.

Have an awesome day!

Cute Cards made with Stickers!

I was going through some old sticker sheets today and what did I find? Birds of all kinds!

I have been focused of late on putting a little humor in my cards, so I snapped up the birds and got to crafting.

Regardless of the fact that these stickers are "ready to use", no card comes together without a bit of creative thought.  I picked a sentiment stamp, and then had to decide how best to bring the birds together.  The design behind the chicken and rooster are from a Prima Marketing stamp set.  I used white cardstock for the design and placed it over some awesme patterned paper.

On this card I used stickers from Basic Grey, stamps from Prima Marketing and Heritage Makers, cardstock from Bazzill Basics and BoBunny, twine from Maya Road and inks from Tsukineko and Tim Holz/Ranger.

Here's another:

These bird stickers were too cute to ignore.

For this card I cut some travel cardstock into an offset circle shape with nesting dies.  The two birds fit there quite well.  I layered some leaves over, added the same sentiment as the previous card and done!

Travel paper is from Authentique, cardstock from Bazzill Basics, leave die from Elizabeth Craft Designs and bird stickers from Basic Grey.

Both of these cards are generic and can be used for a variety of occasions.  They would be fun for wedding, anniversary, valentine, hostess or friendship cards.  Go through your old sticker collections; you may be surprised at what you see!

Memories at the Lake, Thank You Card

Here is a fun and simple card to say thanks for your summer memories.
Made with journal cut outs from Bella Blvd's Camp Out paper, some wrapped twine from Maya Road, and a sentiment sticker (from Basic Grey).  I mounted everything onto bright red cardstock and used white cardstock as a base (cardstock from Bazzill Basics.

To make a card in a few minutes?  Brilliant!

Baby Card with Graphic 45

I just love this Mother Goose paper from Graphic 45.  I used a few different pieces to create a baby card.  As with all Graphic 45 papers, there is a bit of fussy cutting and layering to be done. This card is going in the mail, so I kept everything flat, simply adding a doily and die cut sentiment.  I mounted everything on a rose colored card base because it is to congratulate the parents of beautiful baby girl.

Congrats die from Marianne Design
Cardstock from Bazzill Basics
Paper from Graphic 45.

Distress Oxide Inks - the trial

Today I thought I would give the new Oxide Inks a try and I'm loving what I see.

This is Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink.  I used the refill, and applied with a sponge applicator over patterned paper.  It is much thicker than regular distress ink and gives good coverage.

I sprayed liberally with water, and could see the change right away.  In this instance I let it dry naturally.

I had a project in mind - a campfire wine card.  I think this could be the perfect background!

Here's the finished card.  What do you think?

This journal tag is cut from BoBunny's Take a Hike cardstock, background is BoBunny's Double Dot cardstock altered with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Fossilized Amber.  Wine glasses stamped and colored with Letraset Pro Markers, (stamp from Dare 2B Artsy).  String is Maya Road; basic cardstock from Bazzill Basics.

I'd love to see your projects!

A great day for Christmas Cards

With my goal on cleaning up today, I managed to get into a box of unfinished cards and cut pieces.  So instead of just sorting and organizing them I finished some.  Here's what I've come up with so far:

The poinsettia cards are made with the absolutely wonderful Christmas Delivery papers from Carta Bella.  I added my favorite Spellbinders poinsettia die shapes (which were already cut...), some stickles and a bit of twine.  The joy card in the centre is made from a recycled card, mounted to an inked background which I created with an embossing folder.  Joy is cut from a Penny Black creative die.  All card bases are made with Bazzill Basics Card Shoppe cardstock. The twine is from Maya Road, and embossing folder from Darice.
So, I am three cards ahead for Christmas, and it is only March....
