Family Reunion Memories

Yes, we were there, in the heart of Saskatchewan, and a good time was had.  There are lots of photos, and more to come, so the challenge for me was how to artistically arrange lots of photos on each page.  It looks simple, but was a bit of a process...  Here are the first pages to go in one of our albums.

I chose Kaisercraft paper, a mix of papers from the collections Memory Lane and Island Escape.  They have some great quotes and journal tags.  I also used cut outs from Scrapbook Customs Canada Chic paper.  The photos spoke for themselves!

Here are a few more pages:

The golf ball and tee were cut with a die from Tonic Studios and I used nesting circles from Lifestyle Crafts as well.  Lettering from American Crafts ad Basic Grey....

That's it for this batch of photos.  I will let you know when the next pages are completed.  Hope this gives you a bit of inspiration to get your family event photos scrapbooked!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

The Great Outdoor Wedding

What to do when you have a beautiful outdoor wedding venue?  Use outdoor paper, of course.  These are some random photos I snapped of my grandson at his Aunt's wedding.  I wanted to maintain the natural feel of this wedding, so went with woodgrain matting.  The background is cardstock from Carta Bella - the Great Outdoors collection; The woodgrain paper and garden accents are from Carta Bella - Spring Market collection.  I used alpha stickers for the title and then printed the family tree bit on vellum cardstock(love this vellum).  This is a simple page, which is perfect for a young boy's scrapbook, and the photos captured some fun moments from this beautiful day.

Thanks for visiting today, and happy scrapbooking...

Take a look at what Carta Bella has to offer. You can get it at Scrappers' Cove!

July Page Challenge - To the Top

A month late and a dollar short perhaps, but I needed the planets to align so that I could finally create my July challenge page.  While there is a place called "Top of the World", the photos used here are of a hike to Jumbo Glacier in the East Kootenay.  I wasn't able to attend, but everyone did make it to "the top".  These are only two of a pile of photos, so many pages still to come...

I used a bit of each item from the kit, then added a few fun bits, like the Heidi Swapp die cut tag, the elephant cut from Kaisercraft paper and the arrows cut from Elle's Studio paper.  The hearts along the side of the photo were from one of the chipboard doors (The doors will find their way to one of the other pages on this hike).  I added a few strips of washi tape along the side as well and smudged it with a bit of distress ink and a spot of gold stickle.  Cute; I like it.

Items in the Kit:  Paper and cardstock from Scrapbook Customs and Bazzill Basics, Embellishments from Maya Road, embellishments and ribbon from American Crafts
Items added:  Cardstock and embellishments from Kaisercraft, Elle's Studio, Heidi Swapp and ink and stickles from Ranger.

Shop for these items at www.scrapperscoveinvermere.net

June Challenge Page

This page began like the others; a package of miscellaneous items waiting for inspiration.  I love all the miscellaneous items and was sorting through photos to find the perfect ones.  I humbly admit that I am not the best picture taker - I rarely leave home with camera in hand.   My sister, on the other hand, claims photography as one of her main hobbies.  Here is her work, photos of my daughters at Panorama Mountain Resort. My hobby, of course, is scrapbooking.  We should get together more often!

Here's what was in the kit:
Bazzill Basics cardstock
Carta Bella cardstock
Simple Stories journal cards
Autumn Leaves - metal brads
Karen Foster - stacked sticker

I added some Basic Grey feathers and vellum circle, using a white opaque gel pen for journalling.

There are lots of challenge kits out - hope to see some of you post your finished work - soon!
