Oh, how I love making cards with flamingos. They are such regal looking birds, yet so much fun to work with. Here are two different takes. One a birthday or thank you card, the other a wedding or anniversary card, or maybe even a retirement card.
What I used to create these cards:
Card bases made from Card Shoppe Cardstock from Bazzill Basics
Background is the Fern Background stamp from Scrapbook Customs. I stamped on some fabulous paper from Alexandra Renke (blue watercolor basic cardstock). I used Artist Blending Pencils from Spectrum Noir to color the fern. There is a little walkway in both of these cards that came from a bit of Island Escape cardstock from Kaisercraft.
Flamingos are from a layering stamp and die set from Hero Arts. I used Hero Arts ink to stamp the flamingos. The legs of the male were filled in with alcohol ink (Studio 71) and he was edged with distress ink (Tim Holtz). The "fabulous" sentiment is from the flamingo set; the hat and crown come from another Hero Arts Stamp set. The little flower pots and the orange flower are die cuts (not sure where I got them; I have had them for years!). The flowers in pots in the couples card are from Prima Marketing. The " congrats" sentiment is a die from Marianne Designs.
The fern background has become my new favorite stamp. You are sure to see it many times if you follow my blog!
