Using twinchies to create cards

I just made up the word twinchies.  These are the two inch journal tags that come with the current paper lines.  I use them all the time on scrapbook pages.  Have you tried making cards with them?

Here's a couple of ideas for you to try.

These cards were great fun to create.  I created the background with Distress Oxide Inks (I use the refills with a blending tool).  I grabbed a couple of debossing folders from the Tim Holtz (Sizzix) line to create the main sentiments.  The debossing folders are a fun addition.  I accentuated the debossed lines with a white gel pen so the message would pop.

Here is what else I did on each card:

Celebrate today card
For this card I used paper from the Fashionista Collection by Echo Park.  I cut the two inch journal tags, and a couple of banners, then distressed the edges with distress ink.  Everything was layered on a doily.  I added a bow and a today banner from a Heidi Swapp tag collection.

Thank you card
This card was created with two inch journal squares cut from Dreams of Autumn paper from BoBunny.  The evergreen leaves are from a Cottage Cutz die, and the stamp is from an Avery Elle clear stamp collection.

Cardstock is Bazzill Basics Card Shoppe.

Hope you find some fun ways to use these two inch tags, and that you adopt the word twinchie into your scrapbook vocabulary.

Enjoy your day!
