Panda Party cards with Photo Play

 Make cards with journal tags!

Photo Play has a fabulous selection of papers and embellishments.  I cannot resist this cute collection called Cake Panda Party with cute panda images, black and white patterns with a hint of color.  I chose to work with a journal cutout page and quad patterned page.  What do you think?  These cards are perfect for kids or adults.

Here's some close ups:
1.
For this card I cut out the bear from one journal tag and trimmed down a second journal tag for the sentiment.  Cut some leaves and stems in various colours of green and added stickles to the eyes and pom pom on the hat.  The design was backed with blue cardstock and mounted on beige base.
(dies from Cottage Cutz and Elizabeth Craft Designs, cardstock from Bazzill Basics)

2.
With this card, I also cut the cute bear face and sentiment from the journal tags, backed onto paper trimmed from the quad designs.  I then added die cut balloons, some twine and a leaf.  I used a bit of distress ink to pop out the bear.  Stickles used again for the eyes and pom pom.  I backed everything onto a lime green patterned paper and then onto Spring Green Cardshoppe cardstock.
(dies from Elizabeth Crafts and Tim Holtz, paper from Crate Paper, cardstock from Bazzill Basics)

3.
Backed on black cardstock and mounted on rose coloured Cardshoppe cardstock, this is a simple and elegant card from the same Cake Panda Party collection.  The Happy Birthday tags were cut and trimmed.  I simply added die cut leaves, paper flowers and bling.

4.
Last, but not least.  This is a fun card with a bit of pop.  I cut a circle in the background and inserted sentiment from one of the journal tags.  The candle also comes from a journal tag; I adhered the candle with pop dots.  I cut two balloons from left over patterned paper and glued them over existing balloons.  Then I used glossy accents on the attached balloons and candle flame  to give some shine and texture.  A little gold glitter went onto the candle flame as well.  Fun and more fun.  I used some pink striped paper as a backing and all went onto a white card base.
(pink striped paper is, I think, from My Mind's Eye, and cardstock is from Bazzill Basics)

Here are the two sheets of 12x12 inch papers I started with.  I can still make a few cards from what remains!
